  1. Guidance

Know your lane before the junction

Big distance, the road name as the sign spells it, and the lanes to be in, shown early enough that you are not cutting across three lanes at the last moment.

  2. Tolls

The right toll lane for your car

Tell Bound whether you pay with TnG, MyRFID, SmartTAG or card. At the plaza it shows which barriers take it, from what drivers have reported. No more reversing out of a cash lane.

  3. On the way

Add a stop without ending the trip

Petrol, a drive-through, picking someone up: add up to three stops mid-drive and Bound reroutes through them.

  4. Privacy

A map that doesn’t need to know your life

No account to sign up for. Home, Work and your recent places stay on your phone, and our servers never keep where a drive started or ended.

  5. Coming soon

    And more on the way

CarPlay and Android Auto, your next turn on the Lock Screen, and voice guidance in Bahasa Melayu.

Made for Malaysian roads

And the little things that matter here.

Highways by the names you say

NKVE, LDP, KESAS, with the yellow route number from the signboard, so what Bound says matches what you see.

Timed with live traffic

Up to three ways to go, each with an arrival time that counts the jam you can't see yet.

The right branch, first time

Every result says where it is, neighbourhood then street, so you pick the one you meant.

Running late? Say so in a tap.

Share your arrival time as a plain message. No link, no live tracking of where you are.

Why Bound exists

Malaysia’s map should belong to Malaysians.

Not Google’s. Not even ours. Everyone’s.

Almost every map app in Malaysia runs on Google. Every day, Malaysians keep it up to date: a new kedai, a review, a road that changed. None of it is open. Developers can only rent it, on Google’s terms, so every new idea for Malaysian drivers starts locked in.

And our map isn’t complete. Not even close. Neighbourhood shops, toll lanes, what each plaza really charges: no map has them all.

Bound is my attempt to change that: navigation that genuinely suits Malaysians, and a map we build together. Places you add can go to OpenStreetMap, the free map anyone can use, and Bound will open up the toll and lane data drivers share, for the whole country to use.

It’s ambitious, it’s fun, and I’m building it alone. I can’t finish it by myself. Join me.

The founder of Bound

Made in Malaysia

Built by Malaysians, for Malaysian roads.

We’re building our own map of Malaysia, instead of borrowing one from big tech.

Help us finish the map

Spot something missing or wrong? Tell Bound in a few taps, and every driver gets a better map. We still use TomTom for live traffic today; everything you add makes Bound’s own map more complete.

  1. Add a missing place A new shop, a warung, a mall entrance.
  2. Report a closed shop Closed for good, or under renovation.
  3. Share your toll fare What you actually paid at the plaza.
  4. Map the toll lanes Which lanes take TnG, MyRFID or SmartTAG.
  5. Flag road hazards Floods, accidents, police, blocked lanes.

How we decide

Why we built it this way

Every choice has a cost. Here are ours, in the open: why we made each one, what could go wrong, and what it costs.

Bound runs on drivers, not investors.

One person builds Bound, with no investors and, today, no ads. Every line on this bill is paid every month. If Bound gets you somewhere, help keep it free, independent and Malaysian.
